Ply-lining the Van
This page will talk through the ply lining of the van, from the sides, hatchback door, and the roof. I will also talk about the carpeting in this section as well.
The original chipboard tamplate I made, I did this as it is easier to shape and use for a template than plywood.
The Batton across the side rear panels, this is to secure the middle of the plywood template. Thia has also been mirrored on the opposite side.
The Final Plywood cut panel, my uncle and myself feel it is an extreemly good fit, much bettere than the plywood kits you can buy from the shops, and a lot cheaper! (well, not if my uncle charged per the hour)..
The plywood panel for the rear space in the tailgate. This was a very hard one to fit and to stick, we used a mixture of battons, grip fill, and lots of screws to get it to stay!
Due to the floor having holes in the ply flooring of my van (tie-down points if i was carrying large loads), I filled them with hammerite so they wouldnt rust, filled with grip fill, then cut out 12mm plywood to fit the holes, we managed some very good tight fits. We then added filler to some of the smaller gaps, and sanded down any imperfections.
